Enter Foreign Currency Costs and Sell Prices

Foreign Currency (FC) Columns

Depending on your screen resolution and system parameters, as configured by your Moveware administrators, the Costing screen may include two columns which are used to enter foreign currency values.

Refer to the relevant steps below, based on your individual Costing screen configuration.

If your screen resolution displays the FC columns:

  • Enter Costs in Foreign Currency:
  1. Select the cost line you want to add the FC cost.
  2. Make sure the line is set to the currency you need.
  3. Enter the Foreign Currenc values the rate (FC) column or Est Cost (FC).
  4. You will see the conversion to local currency in the rate column.
  • Enter Sell Values in Foreign Currency:
  1. The same does not apply for the Sell value. There is no FC Sell column.
  2. Make sure the Customer (Debtor) of the Cost Option is a Foreign Currency Customer.
  3. Click the toggle to display Sell Price in Foreign Currency (see below screenshot). The Sell columns will display in yellow.
  4. Enter the values in foreign currency.
  5. If you click the toggle again the system will display the base currency values with the exchange rate applied. You can also enter the values in base currency, then click the toggle to display the foreign currency amount.

If your screen resolution does NOT show the FC columns:

  • Enter Costs in Foreign Currency:
  1. Ensure the Cost line is set to the currency you need. This occurs automatically by adding a Supplier/Creditor who is set up in a Foreign Currency.
  2. Click the toggle to display the Est Cost in Foreign Currency (see below screenshot). The Est Cost and Rate columns will switch to yellow, and only Foreign currency lines will be displayed.
Note: All foreign currency lines will display. In other words, if your base currency is EUR, USD and AUD lines will both display.
  3. Now you can enter the values in the foreign currency.
  4. If you click the toggle again, the system will display the base currency values with the exchange rate applied.
  • Enter Sell Values in Foreign Currency:

The process for adding a Foreign Currency Sell price is the same as described above.
