How to Test Basic Moveware Functionality on a New Server

We encourage clients to follow the steps outlined below to test basic functionality after moving Moveware from one server/environment to another. This includes during the initial implementation, when Moveware is first set up on a client’s server.

If any errors are encountered during these steps, it is critical that you provide this as feedback to your Moveware Administrator before proceeding.

  1. Log into your database. Enter your user ID and password.

2. Open the Jobs menu. Select a Job. Choose a Crystal report (such as Quote) from the drop-down menu and select the Print Preview option. Ensure the report opens successfully.

3. Using the same report, choose the PDF option. Ensure the report successfully displays as a PDF.

4. Using the same report, choose the Print option. Ensure the report can be successfully printed as a physical copy.

5. If you have any Word merges, please select one from the drop-down menu and produce one in Word. To know which documents are Word merges, you can check in the Report Configuration menu:

6. Test sending an e-mail by going to the Windows menu and clicking Send E-mail. You can test sending an e-mail to yourself. Ensure no failure to send errors are displayed and that the e-mail is received. Also check if the signature displays correctly.

7. For any job, try accessing the job’s file folder icon. Ensure the file folder opens with no errors and that any files displaying in the folder can be opened.

If any errors occur, please provide feedback to your Moveware Administrator immediately.
