Storage Locations

Warehouse locations used for storage are entered in the Location Management screen of the Storage module.

Locations (rows) can also be viewed and managed from a grid view.

How to Manage Storage Locations

  1. Navigate to Storage > Locations. The Storage Locations screen can also be accessed through Administration > Moveware Setup > Locations.

2. You will then be presented with a list of your storage locations:

A. The area highlighted in yellow will display the existing locations.

B. The area highlighted in green displays the Storage Containers/Modules stored in each Location.

The “Own Locations” Checkbox

The Locations Management screen displays the Locations in your warehouse(s), but it also can be used to display other agents’ warehouse locations if you wish to record that information.

By default, when you open the Storage Locations screen, it will display your own locations.  If you uncheck the “Own Locations” checkbox (highlighted in red below) you can view Locations of other Agents as well:

Location Codes

Each Location is assigned a unique code, which consists of 3 main components of the location:

  1. The Agent: either your own company or another agent.
  2. The Area: the general area of the warehouse (could be pallet racking, oversized, transit area, etc).
  3. The location (either a number or a row-depth-height combination).

Together, these 3 components will create a unique code for each storage location (Agent code-Area-Location):
