Add a Credit Note

How to Create a Credit Note for an Invoice: 

  1. Click on Jobs.

  2. Search and Select the Job you need the Credit note for.

  3. Navigate to the Costing Tab and select the cost option that we want to generate a credit note for.  For the system to allow this function, the selected cost option must be associated with an invoice that has already been posted to the GL.  

  4. Click the “Create Credit Invoice” icon  [].



  5. Click ‘Yes’ to confirm that you want to create a Credit Note 



    The system has created an exact copy of the cost option, except that all the values negative.  The system also created a Credit Note in the Invoicing Screen and works exactly as an invoice, except that it has CR as type. 



  6. To post a credit note, follow the same steps listed in the previous ‘Posting an Invoice’ section.

To make any adjustments, you will need to revert the status of the cost option. Now, you can make any necessary adjustments, such as changing the amount you wish to credit, right from the Costing screen, and you will see these changes reflected in the Invoicing screen as well.
